Julien Carrel, director of the FISU World University Championships, made an official visit to the venues and noted the organizational workflow for the upcoming FISU WUC Floorball 2020, which will be held in Koper at the end of June 2020.
In the last two days, delegate Julien Carrel went to Koper to see the venus and all the infrastructure needed to organize the World University Floorball Championship, accompanied by a team of organizers from the University Sports Association of Primorska. Upon arrival at Adria Ankaran Resort, a meeting followed which included review of accommodation, an accreditation center, an info point, a restaurant for participants, offices and social event area. In conversation with representatives of the organizer took notes of the progress of further activities.
On Friday, a reception was held in the office of the Mayor of the City Municipality of Koper, attended by a representative of the University of Primorska. At the reception, Julien Carrel and the representatives of the organizing committee of the championship were received by Mayor Aleš Bržan, while Mojca Kleva Kekuš attended the reception as the representative of the University of Primorska. During the reception, they touched upon the topic of exceptional development of sports and sports infrastructure in theCity Municipality of Koper and the connection between sport, University and Municipality.
In Tito Square, a delegate and a team of organizers visited the venue for the opening ceremony, as well as the Praetorian Palace and the municipal council meeting room, where a general technical meeting of the championship will take place. This was followed by a tour of the sports infrastructure, where the competition will take place, including the Arena Bonifika and the hall of the Koper Primary School. The delegate delivered a positive opinion after the visits.
The organizers have obtained useful tips and guidance for further work, while also confirming that the preparations for the championship are making excellent progress.
The visit will continue in the coming days, as FISU’s Finnish technical floorball delegate Tanelli Tiilkainen is also coming to Koper to meet with the organizers.
